How much cash should I take to Germany/Austria with me?

I’m planning on using my credit card for most purchases, but for smaller merchants,( who don’t take credit- only cash) I was planning on bringing 500 Euros- Will this be enough?
My budget- ( not including the 500 mentioned above )is 1500 U.S dollars. Will this be enough for 5 weeks? My Apartment and local transport is paid for.Submited by:♫♪♫Love & Kisses♫♪♫

Which atm card has the lowest fees in spain and Europe? Everbank?
